FAQ

Where do you make your products?

All of our plastic welding rods are made in the USA of domestic and foreign plastic resins.  Plastic resins (pellets) are made throughout the world so it is very difficult to source only USA made plastic pellets.  PVC, HDPE, LDPE and PP plastic resins are produced worldwide but with the latest fracking technologies, and natural gas as a low cost feedstock, the USA can produce the lowest cost resins for these materials in the world.  So typically we source these materials from the USA.   Our plastic welding kits, speed welding tips and website design is sourced from worldwide suppliers and quality is controlled by WeldiPlast.

Why do I see plastic welding rod shapes listed but there is no availability?

Well this is an unfortunate situation for both parties as we want to make sure you can get the plastic welding rods that you need when you need them.  Unfortunately the world keeps making more and more plastic parts every day.  That means more items that break and more plastic welding repairs to be made in more and more different materials and shapes.  If you need plastic welding rods immediately, please contact us with exactly what you need so that we can move that shape and material to the top of the list.

What is your return policy?

All of our products come with unlimited technical support for the life of the product for the original owner only.  Products over $50 in selling price are returnable for 30 days.

What is your company guarantee policy?

All of our electrical plastic welding tools come with a 365 day guarantee.  If the tool ever fails to perform as expected being operated as it was designed, please return it to our shop for repair.  The shipping is a split ownership offer.  This means the customer pays for shipping to our shop and we pay the shipping back to the customer.  Please allow appropriate lead time for repairs up to 90 days in some instances.

My company is an industrial sized purchaser of plastic welding rod.  Can you help us?

Industrial customers are an integral portion of our customer base.  If you are purchasing more than $1000 per month of plastic welding rods, please contact us so that we can work together closely and ensure you have the materials you need when you need them.  There are a lot of creative ways we have satisfied other customers stocking needs.

Can you do custom color matches for welding rods?

Absolutely we can.  Please keep in mind custom color matches can take 12-20 weeks to process.  This includes sending “color chips” to the customer for final custom color approval.  Sometimes even after that, the color can shift due to plastic resin heated drying and the heated extrusion process.   Why does the process takes so long?  After customer approval, the color compounder makes the color and then we process the custom color mixed in a salt and pepper fashion along with the base resin.  All of this takes time to make sure that you have a great color match.

Can you do custom welding rod shapes?

Absolutely we can.  Please keep in mind custom rod shapes can take 12-20 weeks to process.  This includes sending custom rod samples to the customer for final approval.  If there are any changes or modifications required to the samples provided, that will add to the final lead time as well.

What is your quality policy?

We have been working with plastic products for over 49 combined years.  When we build a plastic process, we build it to be very reliable and repeatable by using scientific molding processes.  While plastic welding rods are not really precision molded products because they are made to be melted, we strive to hold tolerances appropriate for the shrinkage of the parent resin.  Every single linear foot of welding rod is laser measured to ensure ovality, roundness, diameter, shape and consistency.  We also control lot numbers and track resin specifications with lot numbers as well.  If you ever have any questions about our quality process, please do not hesitate to ask!
